In one way or another, I have been in the language service industry since 1991.

That’s probably longer than I should admit to, but I was very young when I started, honest.  My first language company was involved mostly in traditional document translation and on-site interpreting.  It was in 2008 that I recognised a shift in the market towards audiovisual translation work and Knockhundred was born.

My educational background was firmly in English (language and literature), but I have always been fascinated by other languages and am in awe of our wonderful and talented team of linguists.

My favourite book is probably The Magus by John Fowles.  Mysterious, evocative, addictive and set on a sun-baked Greek island.  What’s not to love?

Based on the The Magus being my favourite book, I should probably choose Spetses as my favourite holiday destination.  I think this is the island that features, but actually my family would never forgive me if I didn’t say, “France”.  We can’t help ourselves.  We just keep going back.

I am lucky.  I love my job, I love the people I work with and I love the challenges that each and every project presents.
