Completed by Nepali proofreaders and editors with an eye for detail

Any copy, whether in hardcopy format or online should be proofread before being published. This rule applies to text in any language. Our experienced Nepali proofreaders have an eye for detail and a perfectionistโ€™s pleasure in getting it right.

You may need more to ensure your text is just the way you want it.ย  Working in over 200 languages, our experienced editors will review and amend a document by making additions, deletions or other changes to ensure the text reads well and conveys the right message.

Just let us know how we can help you.

What will our Nepali proofreaders and reviewers consider?

Our proofreaders can either compare the translation against the source text or proofread the translation without reference to the source text. They can also proofread text in its original language. The proofreader will consider spelling, consistency, coherence, check names, figures and symbols, grammar, accents are in place, punctuation and check for omissions.

Our proofreaders can also carefully check the formatting of a document to ensure that sentences donโ€™t appear twice, a word has not been cut off inappropriately, headings are in bold if they should be, titles to illustrations have not been omitted.ย  This is especially important post desktop publishing or typesetting.

Some of our clients ask us to check adherence to their own in-house style guides.

Just explain to one of our experienced project managers what you need and weโ€™ll do the rest.

What role do our Nepali editors play?

Our editors will typically check facts and ensure that the finished copy corresponds with any in-house style guide and feels polished, refined and natural.ย  It is our Nepali editorโ€™s job to cut out content that doesnโ€™t fit with the subject matter or with the goals that the commissioning party have set.

The main role of our editors is to make sure that the text is clear, will maintain the interest of the reader and that any information contained within the document is fact-checked as thoroughly as is possible or practical.

Let us know the subject matter of your document and weโ€™ll assign one of our editors to work their magic.

Review of audiovisual translations in over 200 languages including Nepali

Because of the nature of audiovisual translation work, a native speaker of the original speech may produce the translation of audio or video material.ย  This is because they are often able to pick-up more than a linguist who is merely fluent in that language.

Depending on the intended use of the translation, we may recommend that one of our linguists reviews the output to produce a polished result.ย  Alternatively, if the audiovisual translation has been commissioned to simply discover what is being said and the transcript is not destined for publication, then it is likely that the raw format will suffice.

What sort of material do our Nepali proofreaders and editors handle?

Our amazing team of linguists will tackle just about any written text including:

  • Contracts
  • Manuals
  • Magazines
  • Brochures
  • Leaflets
  • Books
  • Poetry
  • TV and film scripts
  • Audio book scripts
  • Voice over scripts
  • Subtitles
  • Audiovisual translations

How is the cost for Nepali proofreading and editing calculated?

  • The cost depends on the subject matter
  • The cost is calculated by the number of words in the source text

While youโ€™re here… some quite interesting facts about the Nepali language.

Nepali is a member of the Eastern Pahari branch of the Indo-Aryan language family spoken mainly in Nepal and northern India by about 25 million people. Historically, Nepali was called Khas Kura (เค–เคธ เค•เฅเคฐเคพ, khasa kurฤ), spoken by the Khas people of Karnali, and Gorkhali (เค—เฅ‹เคฐเค–เคพเคฒเฅ€, gorakhฤlฤซ), the language of the Gorkha Kingdom, before the term Nepali (เคจเฅ‡เคชเคพเคฒเฅ€, nepฤlฤซ) was adopted. The origin of the modern Nepali language is believed to be from Sinja Valley in Jumla. The Nepali dialect Khas Bhasa (เค–เคธ เคญเคพเคทเคพ, khasa bhฤแนฃฤ) is still spoken among the people of the region.
