Working with video or audio material, our experienced team of media linguists can translate what is being said into a different language.
We tend to use native speakers of the spoken language as they are often able to discern more, to be able to pick-up idiomatic speech, catch more when the audio quality is not so good and have an ear for different accents.
We work closely with a lot of digital content creators, media companies, film makers and charities to help make sense and full use of the footage they have or create. Our linguists will listen to the speech, pick up any visual cues if working from video and provide a translated written version.
The translations we provide are used in many different ways: sometimes for basic information only; sometimes so that the salient bits of footage can be isolated and identified; sometimes for research purposes; as part of preparation for a legal case, or perhaps a script for a voice over.

Knockhundred first started putting together its library of voices in 2008 and since then, word has spread so that we have been able to add voices in hundreds of different languages every month.
As well as having our own on-site state-of-the-art in-house recording studio, we also have partner studios based all over the world.
Understanding and having experience in all aspects of managing a multilingual voiceover project, our Knockhundred team can help you prepare the scripts in whichever languages you require, help you with the casting process, provide demo voice recordings, sync the voices to the video, mix if required, add the voiceovers to the video…whatever you need.

Audio description in over 200 languages.
Providing an audio description (AD) track to your visual content instantly increases accessibility making it possible for those who are blind or have a visual impairment to engage with the material.
Audio description provides the supplementary information required to provide proper context to what is happening on-screen (or on the stage). AD describes body language, expressions, movements and other visual effects so that blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the subtleties and nuances of what is happening.
An individual who relies on audio description simply explains how important access to AD is for the blind and partially sighted. This extract is from the RNIB:

Script preparation in over 200 languages.
This service is all about script preparation rather than script writing.
We are often asked to provide a voiceover service in other languages with the video itself being the only source material available. In this case, a simple audiovisual translation may not be sufficient.
So that valuable (and expensive!) studio time isn’t wasted, the script must be prepared in such a way that all the relevant information is easily accessible and sensibly organised. Depending on our clients’ requirements, this may include segmentation, time coding, speaker labels, on-screen graphics, dialogue vs VO etc in the target language(s).
Our audiovisual translation experts will take into account reading speeds, idiomatic language and tone to make sure that their target audience’s experience is as rich in the translated version as it was in the original.
