Transcription, video and audio translation, subtitling, voiceover, audio description and script preparation in over 200 languages.
Transcription in over 200 languages.
Working from audio or video material, our teams of transcribers accurately type exactly what has been said.
Our transcribers are real human beings and any client-approved AI intervention is always checked by a human too.
We have all seen the comical results when humans are taken out of the process… Our Knockhundred researchers are constantly on the lookout for that breakthrough AI platform that will successfully handle multiple speakers, difficult and specialist terminology, accented speech and poor audio quality. It’s not there yet…
Working in over 200 languages including English, our teams of transcribers handle thousands of minutes per month for universities, market research companies, solicitors, pharmaceutical companies, advertising agencies, charities, private individuals and business of all shapes and sizes.
The material is as diverse as the client-base: covert recorded phone conversations, research interviews, patient interviews, conference speeches, presentations, lectures, court hearings, police interviews, human resource meetings, oral histories.
Our competitive rates are calculated per source minute of video or audio material and depend on language, volume, schedule, subject matter and frequency of any time code requirements.
Video and audio translation in over 200 languages.
Working with video or audio material, our experienced team of media linguists can translate what is being said into a different language.
We tend to use native speakers of the spoken language as they are often able to discern more, to be able to pick-up idiomatic speech, catch more when the audio quality is not so good and have an ear for different accents.
We work closely with a lot of digital content creators, media companies, film makers and charities to help make sense and full use of the footage they have or create. Our linguists will listen to the speech, pick up any visual cues if working from video and provide a translated written version.
The translations we provide are used in many different ways: sometimes for basic information only; sometimes so that the salient bits of footage can be isolated and identified; sometimes for research purposes; as part of preparation for a legal case, or perhaps a script for a voice over.
Our rates are calculated by the source minute and will depend on volume, subject matter, urgency, time code requirements and language.
Knockhundred was one of the first language companies to offer audiovisual translation as a standard service and this is why we are trusted by all the big names in the industry – as well as being the obvious partner of choice for other language service providers.

Subtitling in over 200 languages.
Providing multilingual subtitles for Paramount, Discovery Channel, Amazon and countless other film makers, digital content creators, social media video creators, charities, advertising and media companies our talented teams of subtitlers can produce beautifully crafted subtitles enhancing the viewing experience of your global audience.
Working in over 200 languages (including English), our linguists can create subtitles in the same language as is spoken in the video content or create subtitles in different languages. Just let us know what you need and we’ll do the rest.
Both closed and open captions are available, as are subtitles for the Deaf and hard of hearing (SDH).
While .SRT is the most frequently requested format, we can output our subtitles in multiple formats including: Avid STL, EBU and PAC. Talk to one of our knowledgeable project managers and they will soon be able to confirm what output choices are available for the languages you require.
Our rates are calculated by the source video minute and will depend on volume, schedule, language(s), output requirement and subject matter.
Voiceover talents in over 200 languages.
Knockhundred first started putting together its library of voices in 2008 and since then, word has spread so that we have been able to add voices in hundreds of different languages every month.
As well as having our own on-site state-of-the-art in-house recording studio, we also have partner studios based all over the world.
Understanding and having experience in all aspects of managing a multilingual voiceover project, our Knockhundred team can help you prepare the scripts in whichever languages you require, help you with the casting process, provide demo voice recordings, sync the voices to the video, mix if required, add the voiceovers to the video…whatever you need.
Our knowledgeable project managers will be able to point you in the right direction regarding any possible usage and broadcast fees. Just let us know how and where you will use the voice(s) and we will provide clear guidance on whether any such fees will apply. You may be surprised to learn that your project could be exempt from such fees.
Our voiceover artists work on all sorts of material including: films, documentaries, social media video posts, adverts, audio books, museum audio guides, lift announcements etc.
Costs are calculated depending on the number of speakers within a video, the number of minutes in the video content or number of words in the script, the language, volume and schedule.
We are also able to provide AI robotic voices in a limited number of languages for those projects where speed and budget are primary considerations.
Audio description in over 200 languages.
Providing an audio description (AD) track to your visual content instantly increases accessibility making it possible for those who are blind or have a visual impairment to engage with the material.
Audio description provides the supplementary information required to provide proper context to what is happening on-screen (or on the stage). AD describes body language, expressions, movements and other visual effects so that blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the subtleties and nuances of what is happening.
An individual who relies on audio description simply explains how important access to AD is for the blind and partially sighted. This extract is from the RNIB:
“Just watch a movie and close your eyes.” You can’t follow most movies by just listening to the dialogue. You’d be lost in a moment.
Our experienced audio describers provide the narrative in between the dialogue using a tone of voice that matches the timbre of the scene.
We can work from a script already prepared, or we can prepare one from scratch in whichever language(s) you require.
Script preparation in over 200 languages.
This service is all about script preparation rather than script writing.
We are often asked to provide a voiceover service in other languages with the video itself being the only source material available. In this case, a simple audiovisual translation may not be sufficient.
So that valuable (and expensive!) studio time isn’t wasted, the script must be prepared in such a way that all the relevant information is easily accessible and sensibly organised. Depending on our clients’ requirements, this may include segmentation, time coding, speaker labels, on-screen graphics, dialogue vs VO etc in the target language(s).
Our audiovisual translation experts will take into account reading speeds, idiomatic language and tone to make sure that their target audience’s experience is as rich in the translated version as it was in the original.
