Translation for Charities – Supporting Save the Children: Voices from Crisis Zones
We’ve recently partnered with Save the Children on a number of projects rooted in conflict-affected regions. One included translating handwritten workbooks by children in Gaza, where they shared their dreams and routines in the face of overwhelming adversity. Every page demanded thoughtful handling – conveying not only the meaning but the emotional weight behind the words. These types of projects highlight the need for experienced charity translators who understand both language and context.
In another assignment, we translated interviews from Kinyabwisha with people displaced by conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These were stories of resilience and loss, told in difficult circumstances. Precision mattered, but so did context – an understanding of what lay between the lines. Other projects involved translating Palestinian Arabic interviews with volunteers and families working to support children’s psychological wellbeing and education in Gaza. We also worked on testimonies from those affected by the Sudanese civil war and on daily-life accounts from civilians enduring siege conditions. Each required charity translations that balanced accuracy with cultural and emotional sensitivity – translators attuned to nuance, familiar with humanitarian frameworks, and able to move between languages with care.
We also worked on an interview with a Polish librarian supporting Ukrainian refugees – part of our broader experience with refugee translation services. It’s in these everyday, human accounts that the power of language to connect becomes most visible.

In addition to Save the Children, we continue to provide translation for charities to organisations such as Oxfam, supporting a wide range of content from community leaflets and training guides to advocacy campaigns and case studies.
