Face to face or telephone interpreting?

Face to face or telephone interpreting? You choose

Telephone interpreting is an efficient and affordable method of communicating. It allows people to communicate across different languages in a matter of seconds through the simple use of a telephone.

Here are some simple situations in which you might choose to use a telephone interpreter rather than call a face to face interpreter to your premises:

– In an emergency, where you require interpretation support immediately.
– When access to an interpreter is required unexpectedly.
– When anonymity is preferred.
– If the conversation is going to brief.
– If there are geographical limitations and it is not possible for an interpreter to attend your meeting.
– When you want to avoid travelling costs, so the interpreter’s working time is used more efficiently.
– If reducing the negative environmental impact of the interpreter’s travel is important to you.
– To reduce the risk of conflicts of interest and emotional impact.
– If you travel the world (or even just the country), so you don’t have a physical base.

Face to face interpreting has its benefits, but we’re seeing an increase in the demand for immediacy – a sort of “on the go” or “on demand” service. With telephone interpreting, interpreters can sometimes be accessed instantly, or in a matter of seconds.

We currently offer telephone interpreting in over 150 languages, any time of day or night, 365 days a year. We do not charge any sign-up fees or subscription charges. Costs are the same regardless of language or time of day of the call.
